In the late 50’s some energetic young residents of Becharam Chatterjee Road (South) had decided to establish a social platform to bring all the local people under one umbrella. They decided to perform “Kali Puja” in the locality followed by a “Jatra Pala” for the entertainment of the local residents. They hosted the puja on 11th November, 1958 under the banner of “SANTI SANGHA”. From 1958 to 1965 the reputation of SANTI SANGHA had spread throughout Behala and 24 Paraganas (South).

This year the theme is "Rath diye Rath" which is the brainchild of the thememaker, Shri Prasanta Pal. The Club is using more than 4000 chariots to build the mandap which will be in the form of a huge chariot.
The Club's 58 year old Durga Puja joined the theme puja bandwagon in 2007 to tremendous appreciation
