Established Year: 1998

This puja was started by a handful residents residing in Jheel Road Bankplot. First year the puja was held in a Garage near to our present Puja Location. Later a permanent concrete “Thakur Dalan” was built within the Children’s’ park in the locality. This puja is a very homily kind of puja, all the residents of Bank plot takes part in various roles and contributes to their utmost limits to make it a success and enjoyable for the Little Ones. From last year onwards this puja has started a new journey of Theme Puja.

Success Story 2012

Last year the Puja Committee succeeded in gifting the First ever Theme Puja to the entire Locality. The theme was named as “Lal Neel Sobuj er Mela”. The concept and design was thought and executed by Mr. Jayanta Bhattacharya, an Award winning Artist, who resides in this locality. He used four different colors namely, Red, Blue, Yellow & Green cloths to decor the whole pandal. There were also patches of cloths cut in different shapes and sized and tied with strings together with spot lights to give a multicolor effect to the area. He also used transparent Fiber sheets, together with his masterstrokes, which depicted the real Fair of Colors. Last time the inauguration was done by Mr. Manish Gupta (Min. Of Power and Elec., WB Govt.) eminent writer Mr Sakti Pada Raj Guru. Mr. Manish Gupta was highly Impressed with the Theme, he also mentioned that it reminds him of his Childhood days. Lastly he mentioned that this Puja was one of his personal favorites. 

Theme of 2013

This year als the Poja Committee together with the eminent Artist Mr. Jayanta Bhattacharya is going ahead with the Theme Journey. This time the theme will be “Bandhan” – The Connection. While in the recent days the most valuable word that is getting near to its Extinction. Jadavpur Bank plot Welfare & Development Pujo Committee is trying to portray the existence of this Connection in various aspects of Human Life. This year the Idol of Durga will also Showcase the same depicting “Matritter Bandhan”. The Committee welcomes all to visit and be a part of their journey of “Togetherness”.
