OiSHANI Women Welfare Organisation was founded in the year 1998 by three enthusiastic women from Kolkata, India with an objective of Social Service and Women Empowerment inspired by the works and teachings of Ramakrishna Paramhamsadev and Swami Vivekananda. We strongly believe that Social Upliftment can only be achieved through Women Empowerment and are working relentlessly towards that.
We are a fully women managed registered social organization(society) based out of Kolkata, India and have only women members and associates all over the world.
Women Empowerment and Peaceful Coexistence of all is our Motto.
Activities:
Social Service and Durga Puja
Since 1998, the organization has grown manifold. We are having members (only women) from all strata of the society and all walks of life to achieve a common goal of social upliftment. We organize donation/ relief camps during the flood and droughts, support poor section of the society for education, blood donation camp and eye care camps on our own and also in collaboration with Rotract, Behala throughout the year. In doing so we are also associated with numerous organizations having common goals and beliefs.
Oishani is another name of Goddess Durga -the supremely radiant goddess. We organize Durga Puja with pomp and grandeur since inception at a premier location in South Kolkata. We strictly follow the rules and the process laid down in the Shastra (the holy book) with devotion. The participation of local people is eye catching and our puja has already become a center of attraction .Being the only “Women Organized Durga Puja” in Kolkata we are gaining popularity among the masses and we experience unprecedented footfalls during the festival
